Procurement Management

In the broad sense, procurement and procurement related activities occur during all phases of a construction project.

In general, the procurement cycle involves all or some of the following steps:

  1. Issuance and processing of requisition
  2. Solicitation of bids
  3. Receipt and evaluation of proposals
  4. Issuance of purchase order, subcontract or lease
  5. Vendor preparation and submission of shop drawings
  6. Review and approval of shop drawings above
  7. Fabrication by Vendor
  8. Tracking and expediting
  9. Inspection
  10. Shipment and Transportation

Each of these steps above mentioned involve complicated and difficult problems to solve for a smooth execution of the project.
